Prescription lenses in Abu Dhabi
Triple Eight Optical makes single-vision, progressive and blue-light lenses from a prescription issued by a licensed doctor, and fits them to the frame you choose. Our shop is on Defence Road in Abu Dhabi. We do not perform eye exams.
Lens types we make
The lens you need depends on what your doctor has written in your prescription. Ask us if you are unsure which type matches it.
- Single-vision lenses: one prescription across the whole lens, for example for distance or for reading.
- Progressive lenses: one lens with several focal zones and no visible dividing line, used when a prescription includes an added power for near vision.
- Blue-light lenses: lenses with a blue-light filter, which can be added to a single-vision or progressive prescription.
What to bring or send
Your prescription from a licensed doctor (the paper copy or a clear photo) and the frame you would like. If you have not chosen a frame yet, browse the frames on our website or visit the shop.
How to order
- Choose a frame on the website, or visit us.
- Send a photo of your prescription to us on WhatsApp.
- We confirm availability and the price in AED, which includes 5% VAT.
- We make the lenses and tell you when your glasses are ready to collect.
If you do not have a prescription
Our shop does not perform eye exams. Please see a licensed doctor or optometrist first, then bring or send the prescription to us.

Do you perform eye exams?
No. Triple Eight Optical does not perform eye exams. We make lenses from a prescription issued by a licensed doctor.
Can you make lenses from my doctor's prescription?
Yes. Send us a clear photo of the prescription on WhatsApp or bring it to the shop, and we will confirm what we can make.
What is a progressive lens?
A progressive lens has more than one focal zone in a single lens, with no visible line between them. Whether you need one is set out in your doctor's prescription.
What is a blue-light lens?
It is a lens with a blue-light filter. It can be ordered together with a single-vision or progressive prescription.
Do the prices on your website include VAT?
Yes. Prices are shown in UAE dirhams (AED) and include 5% VAT. We confirm the final price for your lenses when you send your prescription.
